nurturing independence right from the start
It is extraordinary what your child can achieve when given an environment built for them.
Nido is a Montessori infant program designed for children aged 1 to 2 years. A safe, beautiful, purposefully prepared space where infants and young toddlers can explore, move, and grow at their own natural pace. Here, your child is never held back by a high chair or a playpen. Everything is at their level, designed for their hands, calibrated to their developmental moment.
Independence is not taught. It is enabled. And it happens here.
program highlights.
Free Movement, From the First Day
No high chairs. No playpens. No jumpers. A floor bed within reach of low shelves with carefully chosen materials. Babies pulling themselves up on a wooden bar, crawling toward an object that interests them, choosing where to go. An infant who can move freely develops gross motor coordination, spatial reasoning, and confidence in her own body. Restraint slows that development. We have designed the entire room so your baby never has to wait for permission to explore.
The Hand Builds the Brain
A baby grasping a wooden rattle with two fingers, then transferring it to the other hand. A child slotting a single shape into a single matching hole. Materials sized exactly to the developmental moment your child occupies. The use of the hand is the gateway to intelligence. Whole-hand grasp, pincer grasp, two-handed coordination: each milestone builds the next, and each one wires the developing brain. We watch carefully, present the right material at the right moment, and step back.
Following Natural Rhythms for Sleep, Eating, and Care
A child eating real food from a small ceramic bowl with a small spoon. A guide who knows your baby's nap cues better than anyone outside the family. Toileting introduced gently, with no schedule imposed from outside. Healthy relationships with food, sleep, and the body are built in the first two years. We follow your child's rhythms, not the other way around. Trust starts here.
Building Independence From Day One
A guide doing for, doing with, then stepping back once the skill is achieved. Your infant is given full support and empowered to try new things within safe limits. A balance between protection and freedom. The child learns: I can do this myself.
Joyful, Precise Language
Our English and Mandarin interactions are vibrant and meaningful. We describe what each infant is doing, what we are doing, and what other children are doing with precise vocabulary, and we incorporate joyful songs and stories. Our goal is to familiarise your child with precise language in English and Mandarin and help her to begin to understand emotions. We expose your infant to as much vocabulary as possible, clearly identifying objects and actions.
